Company doubles employees and office space and expands leadership team to continue growth

Boston, Sept. 12, 2019 – Thought Industries, the Boston-based provider of customer training and learning software solutions, recently received a strategic growth investment from Luminate Capital Partners, a San Francisco-based private equity firm, to support continued growth and expand its market leadership. Thought Industries, which provides a platform to easily create, deploy and monetize engaging and effective learning and training experiences, will use the investment to fuel its sales and marketing, product development, and customer support growth. The Thought Industries platform allows customers to drive revenue, strengthen product adoption, boost renewal rates, and create state-of-the-art learning products.

“With the investment from Luminate Capital Partners we will be able to further invest in our product capabilities and customer support operations,” said Doug Murphy, Co-Founder and President. “Our goal is to better serve organizations that rely on training to drive growth, and this investment will help take our services to the next level.”

Thought Industries has doubled its customer base in the last two years. The company now serves hundreds of  clients in the external customer training market.

“It’s exciting to partner with the Thought Industries team as it continues to grow,” said Hollie Haynes, Founder and Managing Partner at Luminate. “As the leading external training software provider across a variety of sectors, Thought Industries helps organizations to better train and serve their customers. We look forward to finding ways to provide further value.”

The investment from Luminate comes at a key time for Thought Industries, as the company is experiencing rapid growth. Thought Industries has doubled its number of employees in the last two years, expanded its leadership team and recently moved into new office space in Boston. The company has added key personnel in the areas of Product Development, Sales and Marketing and Customer Success.

In addition, Thought Industries has expanded its leadership team, adding two new members in the last year, including Therese Kelleher, Vice President of Operations, and Mike Stella, Vice President of Sales.

With more than 50 percent of employees located in the Boston area, the company recently moved to  Post Office Square where it nearly doubled the size of its office space. “Our five years of strong and consistent growth demanded that we expand our footprint in Boston, and we’re excited to be in Post Office Square in the heart of downtown,” said Barry Kelly, Co-Founder and CEO. “Boston is our home. We want to continue to attract top talent to our team here and have a great location for customers to experience when they join us on site.”
